The Dover Hotel is a convenient base that is centrally located in the South Western tip of Tasmania.

The hotel itself is situated on the waterfront of Esperance Bay with magnificent views of the bay and the three Islands Faith, Hope and Charity with the purple hills of Bruny Island behind.

Fishing boats leave and return to the jetty, following a course out to the D’Entrecasteaux Channel and then to the southern fishing grounds.

The hotel offers fresh local seafood in the dining room, a wine bar featuring local wines, the main bar with keno and pool tables and regular bands every fortnight.

The Dover Hotel has a new chef at weekends and a new menu.

The meals are delicious. For example the Huon Honey Brown mushroom risotto, and a Tasting Plate of local produce such as Esperance Bay oysters have to be tasted to be believed!

These dishes cannot be recommended highly enough according to diners.
